Booking and logistics
How does it work?
You pick the start of your rental window when you book. That's the day the kit arrives at your door. Your friends and family film the day. You post the kit back by the end of your window. We edit the footage into a film and deliver it two to three weeks after we receive the kit back.
How long do we get the camera for?
You pick the start of your rental window when you book. Signature gives you 7 days, Deluxe gives you 10. Most couples start the window 2 to 3 days before the wedding so the kit lands in time. If you need it longer, message us before you book.
When do I pay?
At booking. Your full booking is charged at checkout. One transaction, no balance to chase later. This secures your date and reserves the kit.
What's your cancellation policy?
Your booking secures your date. More than 90 days out, your booking is fully refundable. Inside 90 days, the booking is non-refundable but transferable to a new date subject to availability.
Do you ship anywhere in Australia?
Yes. Australia-wide with tracked, signed delivery. Destination weddings overseas on request.
The camera kit
What's included in the kit?
The camera with battery and SD card already in. Two spare charged batteries. A charging cable. A small canvas pouch with instruction cards and shot prompts. Pre-paid return shipping.
How easy is the camera to use?
Open the screen, the camera turns on. Press the red button to record. It auto-focuses and adjusts to the light. Someone who has never held a camcorder can use it confidently in under a minute.
What if something breaks during the wedding?
Send us a message. The cameras are robust and we test every kit before it ships. In the rare case something fails, we'll always have a contingency plan.
The film
When will I receive my film?
Two to three weeks after we receive the kit back.
How long is the final film?
Around 3 to 5 minutes. Short enough to actually rewatch, long enough to feel like the day. You also receive three short social media edits at 15 to 30 seconds each, plus all the raw footage, downloadable forever.
Can I get the raw footage?
Yes. Every minute that was captured on the camera, downloadable from your delivery page.
Can I get a physical copy?
On request, we can deliver your film on a VHS tape or branded USB drive in a Flip Screen Studio archive box.
Can I have a traditional videographer and also book Flip Screen Studio?
Yes. About half of our couples book us alongside a traditional videographer for two different kinds of record. The other half book us as the only film of their wedding. Both work.
